I love that everyday before Matt leaves for work that he opens all of the blinds and curtains in our house. Once he does the living room, he kindly calls out “what a beautiful day! Your office is ready!”
Working from home FTW!
Surprisingly...
… my day off from work is like my working from home days, except without conference calls and the need to respond to client emails (I’m still responding to a select few). I’m lounging in bed, laptop on lap.
But, for my one outing for the day, I’m heading to the spa in an hour. I was supposed to have a spa day the weekend that I was in the hospital. Excited that things are...
So excited for my mom and sister to arrive today! Both are en route and should be here in about 3 hours!
I just love the phone call I just got from my mom…
MOM: “I got an upgrade on my flight!” [Note: she achieved status on Delta last year for the first time ever]
ME: “That’s great! Enjoy it.”
MOM: “Do you think that I can have a Bloody Mary or...
Welp...
… another week at home for me, doctor’s orders!
But at least she cleared me to work from home. Something to do!
Update!
I’m still pregnant! Every day counts and I’ll be 33 weeks tomorrow. Just have a few more weeks to go.
I’m still having some symptoms of labor, and ended up calling my doctor’s office yesterday. I was seen a two hours later by a nurse, who reassured me that I wasn’t progressing. She couldn’t have been nicer saying “we’ll see you every day if we...
I'm home
And still pregnant!
I am not on bedrest but am supposed to lay low this week: no work, no lifting things over 10 pounds, and drinking tons of water.
The entire staff at Prentice was fantastic. The nurses were great and each time one of them left their shift, they were sure to tell me that I wasn’t welcome back for a few more weeks. I told them that we’d try our hardest.
But just...
A few positives of 4:30 am hospital rounds
I get to make sure that baby is still doing well (he is, he is!)
I can’t fall back asleep, so I hit up the Jason Wu for Target collection! Nothing like planning for some post-baby clothes and accessories (but still hoping that’s 2 months away!)
If you could send some good thoughts and prayers my family’s way, it would be much appreciated.

And Matt just missed our flight to Minnesota.
Here I am. On a plane. Without him. Going to visit his parents.
Hopefully he can get on the next flight.
What a way to start the weekend.
Dear lady with the Razor scooter,
Today probably isn’t the best day to use your chosen method of transportation. The amount of snow we’ve gotten already exceeds the diameter of your tires.
Just an FYI,

Words I thought I'd never say..
… Oh crap! The clamp on my orbital sander just broke!
(I’m in the middle of a DIY project for baby boy. Details to come when done!)
I would do anything for a drink right now.
Man, what a day.

Baby’s nursery is starting to come together! I ordered his bedding last night. I cannot wait for it to arrive!
For all you mamas-to-be, check out www.babybedding.com. This highly-rated company (seriously, check out their review in the Baby Bargains book), allows you to create custom bedding in their online design center.
The site allows you to pick your wall color (a great light blue/gray...

Eater.com is reporting that tickets to the El Bulli-themed dinner season at Chicago’s Next by Grant Achatz will carry a fixed price of $365 for food and beverage. That’s a departure for the current ticket prices at Next, which fluctuate based on the day of the week and time of dinner. A recent pair of tickets purchased by the Price Hike for a Friday night dinner service cost $85 per...

I just got out of my 28-week doctor’s appointment, and I have lots of thoughts running through my head…
…I’m officially in my third trimester. Holy crap. Where did the time go?!?
…It’s nice when your doctor tells you that “you’re all baby”. You finally feel like your husband, mom and friends haven’t been lying to you about your...
Proud moment
I just went to the gym! And worked out!
I haven’t been working out lately because of (1) not being able to gain weight for a few months (why would I expend more calories if I was having issues growing this baby?!?) and (2) a pain in my left hip that just wouldn’t go away.
I’ve been seeing a physical therapist and a massage therapist for my hip pain and have managed to get...

Coq Au Vin: a review
Last night, in an attempt to hit up the kitchen more often, I made Barefoot Contessa’s Coq Au Vin. It was delicious. You should definitely make it.
But, I think that Ina Garten must have a very warped sense of time, because it took me way longer than 20 minutes to prep things and more than 1 hour and 10 minutes to cook. And I consider myself to be pretty proficient in the kitchen....

I have a friend that lives on a small side street that got plowed 3 times during the blizzard, before my street had been plowed once.
Was it because the drug dealers across the street from her were buying city hall? That was our theory at least. But we’ll see what happens this year!

Cooking while pregnant...
I have lost my will to cook during my pregnancy. I have always loved being in the kitchen and cooking great meals. Having one of the best and most appreciative eaters as husband (not to mention his fantastic dish-washing capabilities) helped to encourage me to cook.
But during my first trimester, I didn’t feel like eating. Period. Nothing sounded good. I guess that I should be thankful that...
2012
Happy New Year! I know it’s a bit belated, but best wishes for an amazing year from me to you.
Things have been quiet on here for a few weeks (months?), and I’m hoping to change that. The HUGE project that I’ve worked on at work is launching… today! The project has taken longer to launch than it does to have a baby, so there is a huge (HUGE!) weight off my shoulders.

it's getting real
Just ordered Baby’s crib and glider. Fingers crossed that they arrive before Baby does!
3:52 am
It’s the middle of the night, and baby has decided that this is the perfect time to put on an acrobatics show. There are flips and kicks and some flailing arm movements going on in my belly right now.
Part of me loves these only-for-me shows (Daddy is sound asleep next to me and won’t wake up to feel them), but part of me longs for just one night of uninterrupted sleep.
Day of beauty complete! I’m facial-ed, waxed, hair cut and colored! Bring it on holidays!
How is relaxing all day so exhausting?
