Hmmm
Matt is reading 50 Shades of Gray.
Should I be concerned?

A good friend is one that…
… Flies in from San Francisco to spend the weekend…
…. And surprises you with a massage at your favorite spa…
…. And has the appointment booked and won’t take no for an answer…
… And ushers you out of the house while rocking your baby boy, assuring you that they will be fine for two hours while you’re...

Holy wow. I just tried this with at least 10 things I say I don’t have time for. Sure makes me realize how many things I make excuses not to do. (via emilyposts)
One of the really nice things about having a baby...
This. Is. So. True.
I JUST GOT 7 HOURS OF SLEEP!!!
Like, a full nights sleep, from 10:30 to 5:30. As a nursing mom to a hungry one month old, I never thought this would happen.
But thanks to an amazing husband who took a middle of the night feeding, and to my exhaustion for letting me sleep through pumping and hurting boobs, I did it.
7 glorious hours!
Call me crazy.
Well, the last few weeks of my pregnancy, I definitely was. Modified bedrest will do that to anyone.
When Matt and I were discussing what to name the bump, we quickly settled on two names, but I strongly leaned toward one. So, what did crazy Molly do? Of course I did a quick Google search to make sure our son wouldn’t be confused with a famous (or infamous?) person. Or a...

Ok, first mommy brag for me.
We are active encourages of “Tummy Time” around here. But ever since he was 2 weeks old, Ryan does everything he can to get off his tummy. Including…. FLIPPING OVER!
I swear, at first I thought it was a total fluke or accident, but he does it consistently - 3 or 4 times each “session” for 2-3 times per day.
Maybe he’ll regress...
My best piece of advice to new parents:
Get the most comfortable rocking chair/glider that you can. You will be spending a lot of time in it.
(I love ours btw. Who cares that it’s the most expensive piece of furniture in the house. It makes these 3 am feedings a little more bearable.)

Matt just left for work. His first day back since Ryan was born.
Saying goodbye was a lot harder than I thought it would be.
Friday nights.
Usually reserved for drinks after work. Dinner out with Matt. More drinks to follow.
On our second Friday night with a newborn, I am in pj’s, ready for bed at 8:30 pm.
And I honestly couldn’t be happier about it.
I have spent the past 10 days falling totally and completely in love with Ryan. Motherhood is challenging, but so incredibly rewarding. I cannot imagine my life without him and we are just so blessed.
But the past 10 days have taken a toll on me. We have had our challenges in getting him to eat and gain weight (he takes after me in that regard). A home visit by a nurse showed that he...
Confession
I’m standing in the kitchen, devouring a plate of my mom’s oatmeal chocolate chip cookies.
This is perfectly acceptable new-mom behavior at 4:45 am, right?
It's the little things
Like fitting into a pair of zippered shorts one week after giving birth…
…that can completely make your day.
Can you please go into labor around 11 am on Thursday? That way I can watch...
– My oh-so-loving husband
Waking up to baby hiccuping in my belly is one of my favorite feelings. I find some comfort in the rhythmic movement and watching my belly move gently up and down.
I wonder how many more times this will happen. I made it to full term (37 weeks) on Thursday and the doctor said labor could happen at anytime. I’m officially allowed off of bedrest/restricted activities. And I can go back to...

Today, I had my 36-week appointment. Funny, because I’m closer to 37, but I guess that doesn’t really matter.
We had our last ultrasound done and got a final glimpse at Baby Boy.
“Wow! Look at those lips!”
“Hmmm… let me measure his belly again. Yup, OK. His belly is on the bigger side…”

I love that everyday before Matt leaves for work that he opens all of the blinds and curtains in our house. Once he does the living room, he kindly calls out “what a beautiful day! Your office is ready!”
Working from home FTW!
Surprisingly...
… my day off from work is like my working from home days, except without conference calls and the need to respond to client emails (I’m still responding to a select few). I’m lounging in bed, laptop on lap.
But, for my one outing for the day, I’m heading to the spa in an hour. I was supposed to have a spa day the weekend that I was in the hospital. Excited that things are...
